What is “sealcoating”? Notice how gray your pavement is. Look at the oily, dark greasy spots here and there. To delay action longer is
going to mean costly repairs. Sealcoating protects your driveway from environmental deterioration as-well-as from dripping petrochemicals
leaking from vehicles (not yours, of course). Sealcoating prolongs the life of your asphalt & enhances the appearance of your
property. Sealcoating and crack-filling are often misunderstood. Many people believe their driveway will be smooth & level and
the cracks will no longer be visible after sealcoating. This is a good description of resurfacing, but not for sealcoating. Sealcoating
improves the appearance of asphalt leaving a fresh surface protecting pavement against destructive sun, gas, salt, oil snow, rain
& frost while sealing in the asphaltic oils which keep your asphalt young, flexible and beautiful. How often should I “sealcoat”
my driveway anyway? We recommend that you consider properly sealing your driveway every two years (although the seal itself may wear
6 years). However, some of our customers enjoy sealcoating their driveways every year! Will your sealer be applied by hand or with
a cosmetic spraying unit? Good question. We currently use only a brush unit on residential driveways as-well-as on commercial projects. From our experience, we have found this to be the neatest, longest-lasting means of application. We work carefully around grass, cement, or brick that may surround the driveway or parking lot. Driveway sealer in cans is cheaper, so why shouldn't I do it myself? I am sure you would do a good job and we will even sell you sealer if you insist, but I must tell you that we do not encourage homeowner application for several reasons. First of all, CACTX uses only commercial strength sealer, then we add approximately 5 pounds of 100-mesh clean silica non-skid sand to every gallon of sealer. when an amateur seals a driveway, it is common to see unbecoming brushstrokes when the sealer dries. the professionals at CACTX normally apply two thick, even coats. Our experts professionally clean crack-fill and apply 2 coats of sealer in thefraction of the time it takes an amateur. How long should I stay off my driveway after the sealer is
applied? The sealcoating application should cure for approximately 24 to 36 hours before you drive on it. Generally, you can walk on it after 2 hours, but the weight of your vehicles may cause immediate wear. Actual drying time will depend on the weather, humidity and sunlight. It may also take longer to dry in shaded areas. After two hours, your driveway will have cured enough to protect itself from rain (and from your feet). Does CACTX Surfaces offer a warranty or guarantee? Of course! Please consider our 32 years of trade experience and satisfying customers consistently throughout the Triad to "back-up" this warranty/guarantee too. (Our proposals always spell out in depth the details of what you'd like for us to include too! If you are not satisfied with our work, we will correct the problem (within sensible/human reason) until you are pleased with the job. Sealcoating can be applied for PENNIES per square foot. This is in comparison to replacing an asphalt surface which can
be up to 20 times that amount. Sealcoating extends the life of asphalt surfaces and might be applied every other year. The cost of
sealcoating is truly a minor expense when compared to the cost of your pavement replacement.
